Experience the mysterious Båstnäs Car Cemetery by bike
In collaboration with Unionsleden and Visit Värmland we have created the Unionsleden cycling package. The package includes two peaceful nights at Turistgården and a cycling adventure that takes you past the Båstnäs Car Cemetery, across the Norwegian border, and back again.

Experience hidden gems and breathtaking views
After a good night’s sleep and a generous breakfast buffet, a 56-kilometre round-trip awaits you. This journey takes you through rolling hills, scenic landscapes offering both natural beauty and cultural experiences. Cycle at your own pace and take the opportunity to enjoy swimming spots and cozy fika breaks along the way.
Classic cars and charming gravel roads
During the tour, you’ll experience the unique atmosphere of the Båstnäs Car Cemetery, where over a thousand classic cars from the 1950s and 60s rest in the forest. A gravel road then leads you onward through the woods, offering beautiful views across the Norwegian border to Slusebyen Ørje. Here, you can explore the town’s boating culture through its museum and café.
Towards rest and a calm evening
The return journey takes you over both uphill and downhill stretches, past the customs station and a souvenir shop, before you arrive back at our courtyard.
This round trip offers a full day of swimming opportunities, relaxing breaks, and stunning nature – ending comfortably as you park your bike in our garage and unwind in your room.

The cycling packages consist of 2 nights including breakfast, a map of the route, a packed lunch for one day, and access to bicycle storage
You can choose between hotel rooms with a private bathroom or double rooms with shared facilities.
Useful information when arriving at Turistgården
Check-in and check-out
Check-in is from 16:00 on the day of arrival, but checking in a little earlier is usually no problem. Contact us and we will try to find a solution that suits you.
Check-out is no later than 11:00 on the day of departure. Cleaning is included.
Parking
There is free parking in the area with good facilities for cars, buses or trucks. Parking does not need to be booked. Charging stations are available for electric cars.
